Power supply is a voltage doubler whose output is about 350V. Output circuit is inductive-link type. Purpose of NL1 is to warn you if AC plug is inserted correctly. Be sure to connect R5 to waterpipe ground. If NL1 lights, reverse the plug.
WA2IAC recommends: use a properly wired 3 grounded plug. Realize that this circuit and construction are inherently risky and dangerous. Kids, don't try this at home. Odds are if you build and operate this transmitter you will get a dangerous shock at least once. You've been warned! |
