This router is an excellent candidate for DD-WRT because it has a firmware boot intercept routine that allows you to, using a web browser on 192.168.1.1 (!!), reload the firmware if the router won't boot. This makes the router effectively un-brickable. It also makes it simple to restore the Asus firmware. I don't personally know of any other wireless router with this feature.
